If you are planning your wedding in Mallorca, one of the first questions you will probably ask is: which month should we choose? After planning weddings here and seeing how very different the same venue can feel in spring, high summer and early autumn, my favourite months are usually May, June and September. May is fresh, green and comfortably warm. June gives us long evenings and very little rain. September still feels like summer, but we take the possibility of rain and storms more seriously than we do in June or July.
There is no single perfect month for every couple. The right date depends on the people you are inviting, the venue you love, your budget and, most importantly, how you want the day to feel.
In this guide I will take you through the wedding season month by month and explain not only what the climate data says, but what those conditions actually mean when we are planning a ceremony, dinner and party in Mallorca.

Why your wedding month matters
When couples first contact us, weather is usually the first thing they think about. In practice, the month affects much more than temperature. It changes what time I would recommend for your ceremony, how comfortable your guests will be, when we can use the best light for photographs, how late dinner can start and how easily we can find accommodation and suppliers.
The same finca can feel completely different in early May and in the middle of August. In May you may have green surroundings and a cooler evening. In August you can have a beautiful warm night, but we need to protect your guests from the heat and usually move the ceremony later.
So before you fall in love with one exact Saturday, I would start with a simpler question: what do you want your wedding to feel like? Then we look at your guests. Are there small children? Older relatives? People travelling from the USA or Australia? Finally, we look at the venue and, importantly, what happens there if the weather changes.
The date should support the wedding, not force every other decision around it. This is why direction comes before a rushed venue booking. You can explore suitable wedding venues in Mallorca once your guest needs and seasonal priorities are clear.

The figures below are planning benchmarks, not forecasts. Temperatures and rainfall use rounded AEMET climate averages for Palma de Mallorca Airport. Sunset windows use Palma sun data and can vary slightly by year, date and venue location.

Use the table as a starting point, not a verdict. Mallorca has several microclimates. Coastal, inland and mountain venues can experience different wind, temperature and rainfall on the same day.
Average rainfall also describes climate, not the duration of an individual shower. A month with more rain days may still offer many clear wedding days. No historical average can guarantee the weather for one date.
Spring weddings in Mallorca: April, May and June
Spring is often a very good choice if you want the Mediterranean feeling without the strongest summer heat. I also love how the island looks at this time of year: greener, fresher and less dry than in August.
April weddings in Mallorca
April can be beautiful, but I would never sell it to you as guaranteed summer weather. Around Palma, the average daytime maximum is close to 20°C. In direct sun this can feel very pleasant, but once the sun goes down the temperature can drop quickly. For an April wedding I normally want to know exactly where dinner will take place and whether we have heaters or an attractive indoor option.
The month averages around five days with at least 1 mm of rain. That does not make April a bad wedding month. It simply means I would not choose a venue where the entire experience depends on perfect weather.
April can suit smaller celebrations and venues with attractive indoor spaces. The island feels calmer than in summer. Seasonal services may still have more limited schedules, so every supplier should confirm availability.
May weddings in Mallorca
May is one of the months I recommend most often. You normally get comfortable warmth rather than oppressive heat, the evenings are already long and the island often still has its spring colour. The average daytime maximum is around 24°C.
For guests in formal clothing, for children and for older family members, May is usually much easier than July or August. Rain is still possible, with around four rain days in the long-term average, so I would describe May as comfortable and reliable, not as guaranteed dry.
May is popular for good reason. It works well for outdoor ceremonies, long dinners and guests who may struggle with intense heat. Strong venues and suppliers can still book early.
June weddings in Mallorca
June combines an average daytime maximum near 28°C with roughly two rain days. Palma sunsets move from about 21:10 to 21:20 during the month.
That gives us time. We can plan the ceremony later, avoid the hottest part of the day and still have a relaxed aperitif before dinner. Guests can enjoy the light without feeling that the whole schedule is being rushed towards sunset.
June is one of Mallorca’s most requested wedding months. Comfortable conditions do not mean unlimited availability. Secure the venue and essential suppliers early, especially for a Saturday.
High-summer weddings in Mallorca: July and August
July and August are the months many couples imagine first when they think about Mallorca: blue sky, dry weather, warm evenings and a holiday atmosphere. All of that is true. But these are also the months when I am most careful about guest comfort.
July weddings in Mallorca
July has an average daytime maximum above 31°C around Palma Airport. Rain is uncommon, and the sun sets after 21:00 throughout the month.
That sounds perfect until you imagine 80 or 100 guests sitting outside in formal clothes during the hottest part of the afternoon. For a July wedding I would normally recommend a later ceremony and I would look carefully at the real ceremony location, not only at photographs of the venue.
Is there shade at that exact hour? Does the stone courtyard keep heat? Is air moving through the space? Can older guests escape into an air-conditioned room? Is cold water easy to access? A July wedding can be excellent, but the schedule has to respect the climate instead of fighting it.
August weddings in Mallorca
August has a similar average daytime maximum, close to 31°C. Humidity and retained heat can make formal clothing feel demanding. Early August sunsets remain close to 21:00, then move towards 20:20.
An August celebration can deliver warm evening air and a lively island atmosphere. It requires a later ceremony, shade and a clear guest-care plan. Transport and accommodation should be arranged early because visitor demand is high.
This is why I would not choose August only because the chance of rain is low. If you love warm nights and want your guests to feel the full summer atmosphere of Mallorca, August can absolutely work. But I would build the day around a later ceremony, reliable shade, easy access to water and a clear plan for anyone who struggles with the heat.
Early-autumn weddings in Mallorca: September and October
September is one of my favourite wedding months. October can also be beautiful, but I approach it differently.
September weddings in Mallorca
September often gives couples the best of both worlds: the island still feels like summer, the sea is warm and daytime temperatures remain high, but the most intense August heat is beginning to ease. The average daytime maximum is around 28°C. The trade-off is weather risk: September has around four rain days in the long-term average and more storm activity than June or July.
Sunset changes quickly during September. In Palma, it moves from about 20:20 to 19:33. A late-September wedding therefore needs a noticeably earlier ceremony than an early-September wedding.
I would never hide that trade-off from a couple simply because September is a very attractive month. If you choose September, my advice is simple: enjoy the summer warmth, but choose a venue where the wet-weather version of the day is also something you would be happy to experience.
October weddings in Mallorca
October has an average daytime maximum close to 24°C and around six rain days. The light can be beautiful, while evenings become cooler and daylight shortens.
October contains an important timing change. Sunset moves from about 19:30 at the start of the month to before 18:00 after the clock change. Your exact date must guide the ceremony timeline.
For an October wedding I would want a venue with a proper indoor setting, not a compromise that we hope never to use. If you like cooler temperatures, softer light and a less summery atmosphere, October can be a very good fit. If your dream depends on every important part of the day happening outdoors, I would be more cautious.
Weddings in Mallorca from November to March
Winter weddings in Mallorca are possible, but I would treat them as a different kind of celebration rather than a cheaper version of a summer wedding.
Average daytime maxima range from about 15°C in January to 19°C in November. Nights can feel cold, especially inland. Daylight is shorter and weather systems can bring wind or rain.
Some venues and suppliers reduce their seasonal operations. Others are well suited to winter hospitality. Availability must be confirmed rather than assumed.
For a smaller wedding with a beautiful indoor ceremony and dinner, winter can feel intimate and very special. If what you really want is a long outdoor aperitif, dinner under the stars and a late open-air party, I would choose another season.
Weather, wind and a workable plan B
One of the things I tell couples very early is that there is no month in Mallorca when I would plan an outdoor wedding without a real plan B. And I do not mean an empty room that technically exists.
Wind deserves as much attention as rain. It can affect the ceremony sound, flowers, candles, hair and table settings. Exposed coastal or cliffside venues need a different assessment from sheltered courtyards.
If rain arrives, the alternative space still needs to hold your guests comfortably, allow the catering team to work, leave space for the dance floor and preserve the flow of the day.
When we visit a venue, I want to know what both versions of your wedding would look like: the one we hope for and the one we might need. That is what gives you confidence in the plan.
How the wedding month affects budget and availability
Couples often ask whether choosing a different month will make the wedding significantly cheaper. Sometimes it helps, but there is no universal rule.
May, June and September are highly requested. Popular Saturdays can therefore be scarce and may carry stronger pricing. July and August also bring high accommodation and travel demand.
April, October and winter dates may offer more flexibility with some suppliers. However, heaters, covered structures or extra indoor production can offset part of any saving. A lower venue fee does not always mean a lower complete wedding cost.
That is why I prefer to compare complete wedding budgets rather than only the venue fee. A cheaper date is not really cheaper if we have to add several thousand euros of infrastructure to make it comfortable and safe. We look at the venue, catering, production, transport and weather provisions together.

Guests travelling from the UK and Europe
Mallorca usually has its widest choice of direct European flights between spring and autumn. Routes and frequencies still vary by airport and airline. Ask guests to check the exact schedule before you commit.
May, June and September often balance warm weather with less intense heat than August. Avoid assuming that every route operates daily outside peak summer. A central accommodation plan can simplify arrival and transfers.
Guests travelling from the USA or Australia
For long-haul guests, the journey itself becomes part of the planning. They will often connect through a European hub and may need additional time to recover after travelling.
That is one reason I often like May, June and September for international weddings: the arrival feels gentler than stepping straight into peak August heat.
Share the destination area before guests book flights or hotels. Clear guidance reduces fragmented accommodation and unnecessary travel across the island.
Our Dybiec Wedding perspective: choose the rhythm before the date
When I help a couple choose a wedding month, I do not start by telling them that one month is simply “the best”. I ask what they imagine when they picture the day.
Do you want a long outdoor dinner while it is still light? A ceremony close to sunset? Warm air late into the night? Green surroundings? A quieter island? Do you have grandparents coming, small children or guests travelling for 15 hours? Those answers usually tell us much more than a temperature chart.
As your wedding planner in Mallorca, my role is to connect those emotional choices with the practical reality of the venue. Sunset affects the ceremony. Heat affects guest comfort. The venue affects transport, sound limits and what happens if it rains.
Because I can also lead your symbolic ceremony, I look at the timing as part of the whole experience rather than as a separate production detail. I want the emotional centre of the day to work with the light, the place and the natural rhythm of your guests.
This is especially useful when you are planning from abroad. You cannot visit every venue in May, again in August and again after a September storm. We can use local experience to help you understand what the photographs and averages do not show.
